25.08.2017 - US Post Office Lobbies are a mess

(lsn) In a report written by Bill McAllister, published in the American stamp magazine ‘Linn’s Stamp News’, the author claims that the post office lobbies in the United States ‘are a mess’. McAllister bases this on a recent verdict of the United States Postal Service’s Office of the Inspector General. The inspector general says that it makes no difference what part of the United States you’re in: post offices nationwide are in need of upkeep and repair.
The findings are based in part on a review of the post office lobbies in the Postal Service’s Eastern Area (one of in total seven postal areas), but on his blog the inspector general’s states that the same problems can be found elsewhere. More than 60 percent of the facilities that have been reviewed had building and security problems. Also a number of Occupational Safety and Health Administration violations were found, according to the report.
