A new issue of Fakes, Forgeries & Experts Journal is here and this time 27 authors have contributed with 28 articles on the topic of forgeries, forgers and expert philately.

The book starts with an alarming article from Jean-Frangois Brun about a possible new and very skilled forger. This person uses a technique similar to Sperati´s and a number of very impressive forgeries of French classic stamps have turned up. The author warns that more will probably come.

The most spectacular story in the book though is the report about the reunited Danish block of 2RBS. Carl Aage Moller, president of A.I.E.P., teils us about the block of 4 that was separated into three units and when he discovered in year 2000 how the "Burrus pair", for sale at public auction for the first time, fitted together with two other crown jewels of Danish philately (see picture below).

Paulo Comelli, sadly passed away on May 9, tells us a story about a fantastic cover in Brazilian philately. "The Meyers´ cover" is the only known cover with all three Bull´s Eye values and a beauty that did not needed any improvement. Sadly the cover has been compromised by former owners making poor attempts to enhance it.

The Swedish expert Helena Obermuller Wilén gives us a nice little article about forgeries of the Saw-toothed cancellation that was used in Sweden for a very brief time. In this case, as in many others, the forger´s lack of both artistic skills and philatelic knowledge quickly reveals the hoax.
