On 21 August 2010 the organisers of PhilaLux 2011 have received confirmation from the President of the AIJP, Wolfgang Maassen, that their exhibition will have the patronage of the AIJP. The event, an European stamp exhibition that also received the patronage of the FEPA, will take place from 28 April until 1 May 2011 in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, at the premises of the LuxExpo conference halls.

PhilaLux 2011 is an exhibition recognized by the FIP. It will show exhibits in the classes Traditional Philately, Postal History, Topical Collections, One Frame Collections, Youth Collections and Philatelic Literature. For those interested in participating in the event it will be useful to know that the deadline for the exhibition has not yet expired; entries are still possible until the end of 2010. Particularly those wishing to enter literature exhibits have a good chance of getting their application accepted.

As things are standing now, the AIJP will organise its Annual General Meeting during PhilaLux 2011, i.e. on 30 April 2011. Wolfgang Maassen (President of the AIJP), Jos Wolff (President of the Luxembourg Collectors Association) and Emile Espen (Senior Representative of the Luxembourg Post) have already revealed the first details, which include that the AIJP will be represented at the exhibition with its own booth and also that the AIJP will be involved in accompanying those press representatives that wish to visit the exhibition.

This autumn, the AIJP will provide all interested parties a special media kit that will contain images and articles about the exhibition, in order to enable them to use these for their own magazines. General information is already present on the exhibition’s own website (www.philalux2011.lu) and it also possible to request specific information by sending an e-mail message tot info@philalux2011.lu. Alternatively, you can call 352 4765-4765 or send a fax message to 352 22 62 35.
