25.07.2012 - Special hand stamps for IPHLA 2012
The first drafts for the special IPHLA 2012 hand stamps are now known.
They were presented more than four months before the opening of the International Philatelic Literature Exhibition in Mainz (2-4 November 2012). The hand stamps are, of course, devoted to philatelic literature in print and in digital form. Also well-known literature collectors are honoured’; philatelists who thanks to their publications and their libraries have contributed to the cause of philatelic literature. Dr. Eckart Bergmann has been instrumental in inspiring some interesting ideas for the hand stamps. In a few weeks time an equally unusual program of special exhibition documents (like postal stationary and philatelic souvenirs) will be made public.
The AIJP, the World Association of Philatelic Journalists, will be honoured with a special hand stamp. And there is a good reason for this: in 1962, in Prague, the German Pierre Séguy stood – as its founding father - at the cradle of the Association, which now celebrates its 50th anniversary. The specialised study group ‘Papier & Druck’ (‘Paper and Printing’) celebrates the anniversary with its own special postmark.
