06.01.2017 - Faulty stamp discovered before it was issued

(www.filatelie.nu/Charles Beterams) In November of last year a new German stamp had to be changed at the last minute because it contained a misspelling. The stamp shows Christmas wishes in several languages. Alas, it the Dutch text was faulty: it read ‘Vrolijk kerstfest‘, which was just one ‘e’ short (‘Vrolijk kerstfeest‘ is the right expression. Luckily the design could be corrected before the stamp was officially issued. Copies of the wrong stamp could, however, always surface.
