19.10.2012 - INDONESIA 2012 seen from the perspective of literature exhibitors
Eighty entries from literature exhibitors from around the world were on display during the World Philatelic Expo INDONESIA 2012 (18 to 24 June 2012).

In the exhibition catalogue as well as in the Palmarès list only the author's name and the title of his or her publication were named, not - as required – the information needed to buy their work and against what price. The result was that philatelic literature enthusiasts simply had no way to find out how to buy individual books. As usual, the FIP limited the number of literature classes to three: monographs, magazines and catalogues). It seems clear that, for the FIP, the digital age still has not arrived.
As could be expected, the overall results for literature exhibits were also rather poor: Large Gold was not even awarded and in total there were only two Gold medals (one for a monograph comprising two volumes with the title "The Postal History of the Canary Islands", the other for LAPE’s Specialised Stamp Catalogue of Finland. In the subclass of magazines no Gold Medal whatsoever was awarded. Comfort could perhaps be found thanks to a sprinkling of many bronze and silver medals.
