17.10.2012 - Not just stamps, but also philatelic literature
Philatelic items that are rare and are on offer only sporadically are without doubt in high demand.
But the word ‘items’ not only refers to stamps, but to philatelic literature as well. And so it is possible that certain literature items realise really remarkable prices. Take the third of October 2012: on that date an eBay lot consisting of almost forty volumes of the official magazine of the German study group "ARGE Saxony-Thuringia” (about, amongst others, the issues of the Soviet Occupation Zone) realised a whopping 324.69 Euros. The ‘mixture lot’ drew many interested collectors willing to pay a hefty price for the collection of magazines. It is an experience that proves that even today, in our modern times where digital information seems to rule, something like a number of ‘old fashioned’ ink to paper publications can attract many interested buyers, prepared to pay the price for invaluable written information.
