The International Philatelic Literature Exhibition IPHLA 2012 (2, 3 and 4 November 2012) will provide valuable support for collectors wanting, as newcomers, to participate in an exhibition. The German study group Motivgruppe Musik will organize a thematic seminar under the title ‘From your album into an exhibit’. The seminar is aimed primarily at those who want to build for the first time such an exhibition exhibit - and not just for the theme ‘Music’.

The seminar consists of two parts. The first part (Friday 2 November 2012, 9:30-12:00 h.) comprises three lectures dealing with basic topics: a) Various way to compose a thematic exhibit; b) Step by step on your way to thematic structure; and c) How to extract a topical exhibit from your thematic collection.

The second part (Saturday 3 November 2012, 9:30-12:00 h.) is reserved for giving personal advice to the participants. Experienced exhibitors will answer questions in a setting of small round table sessions. Common themes are then discussed in a plenary session. And maybe the best part: experienced exhibitors will take new exhibitors under their wings; they will accompany them and provide useful advise during the seminar and beyond.

Participation in the seminar is free for members of the study group Motivgruppe Musik. Non-members pay 15 Euros. The venue where the seminar will take place is the Hotel Duchmann in Hochheim am Main. You may contact the study group, c/o Peter Lang, Rotkamp 14, 13053 Berlin (Germany), e-mail motivgruppe.musik@gmx.de. Further details about this event can also be found on the website of the study group (www.motivgruppe-musik.de).
